C & C was a small suburban Cincinnati based mortuary accommodation company similar to Abbott &
Hast in California. C & C stood for Don Catchen & Don Clare, the firms two
owners.
This firm's first conversion was of a '73 Olds Custom Cruiser into a service
car. It was around into the late '80's, and later offered station wagon
conversions with an extended tail and a raised roof. Their
1981 catalog featured standard wheelbase Chevy Suburban and Mercury Marquis Hearse conversions.
Don Catchen Inc. still operates a livery service at 515 Pike St. in
Covington and also runs a small chain of funeral homes in Covington and
Elsmere, Kentucky with his son.
