United Automotive Body Co. of Springboro, Pennsylvania, built 12-foot and
14-foot school bus bodies with the bodies mounted on REO chassis. Under
"Method of shipment" in the specifications was this statement:
United School Bodies shipped either KN (knocked down) or crated set up, or
where three bodies can shipped in one rail car, crating is no necessary.
With many of the truck plants United has an arrangement whereby United
School Bodies are kept in stock and the complete job - chassis and body - is
shipped to the dealer from the factory, thus saving the freight on the
bodies.
