In 1886, Richard C. & Wallace A. Stewart founded the Stewart Iron Works
company. Billed at the turn of the century as the "World's Largest
Fencemaker"; gates, railings, fitments and furnishings made by Stewart grace
fine homes, gardens and parks in the United States and abroad. The Stewart
Shield can also be found at many private and public institutions including
Alcatraz, The Panama Canal and many of our Nations' historic sites.
For well over 100 years the Stewart Shield has heralded ironwork of
award-winning design and superior quality. Many Stewart products are created
using our own original designs and patterns. We maintain a complete on-site
reference library of our historical drawings and catalogs for use by our
designers and clients.
In addition to historic ironwork, we also produce site amenities,
signage, tables and architectural furnishings for the contract market. For
those of you with a special project in mind, we can create custom-fabricated
ironwork to meet your specifications. Each Stewart order is handcrafted.
Whether a piece is forged with hammer & anvil or welded & laser cut, our
products are built with the structural integrity to last a lifetime.
The Stewart Iron Works Company is located in Covington, Kentucky, in one
of the historic structures on the site of the original manufacturing
facility at West 18th Street and Madison Avenue.
We are proud of our tradition of excellence. We look forward to
continuing our service to our customers with the same attention to style &
detail that has been the hallmark of our company for over a century.
