This company built rotary pumpers called Deluge, mainly on Ford and Reo
chassis, from 1923. From 1924 to about 1932 they made the Prospect-Biederman
Deluge Master Fire Fighter which was a pumper on a specially built
Biederman chassis. In 1930 they used a Mars chassis with Lycoming V -8
engine. After the Depression forced Prospect to close their doors their
chief designer Keenan Hanley started his own company under his own name.
Keenan Hanley - Ahrens-Fox engineer, left in 1928 to join Prospect Fire
Engine Co., Prospect, OH. Later started Hanley Engineering Services, which
built, among other things, a Jeep with front-mount pump, five pumpers with
V-16 Marmon engines, and over 100 jet-propelled Coast Guard fire boats in
WWII.
