Company is founded in Appleton, Wisconsin, by Humphrey
and Dudley Pierce in 1913. Started building complete fire trucks in 1979,
previously built bodies only on customer specified chassis.
Volunteer Fire Department purchased a new fire truck from Pierce Auto Body
Works of Appleton, Wisconsin in 1957. The truck has a pump with a capacity
of 500 gallons and 700 feet of hose. Also included on the truck are a 300
gallon booster tank and 200 feet of booster hose.

International August 25-28 in Dallas, Texas. The completion of its 10,000th
chassis marks a significant milestone in the company's history.
"This is quite an achievement in the annals of modern fire apparatus
manufacturing. We've built 10,000 custom chassis since 1979," said John
Randjelovic, president of Pierce.
