FULTON & WALKER - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -
(1899-1901) - The slogan of the Fulton & Walker Company of Philadelphia was
"wagons for business" - and commercial vehicles seemed to have dominated the
line, although a "businessman's" runabout was also featured. All Fulton &
Walkers were electrics. At the 1901 Philadelphia Automobile Show, the
company exhibited an ambulance that was quite favorably received in the
automotive press. "This vehicle is completely fitted up, and is so arranged
that four patients may be accommodated at one time," The Motor Age
commented. "Medicine chests, stretchers, inside and outside electric lights
and all needed appliances make it the acme of perfection in its particular
sphere." Nonetheless, it would appear that Fulton & Walker was out of the
ambulance and automobile business by 1902.
