Prime mover in the
formation of Cub Industries was Howard Munshaw, formerly with Yellow, Reo,
Pony Cruiser and Spartan. The lightweight 19-passenger Cub, based on a
160-inch-wheelbase front-engine Ford truck chassis, was another in a long
line of attempts to serve a limited U.S. market for small, economical
transit buses. Approximately 40 buses were made in two years.
