Anthony Company - 1910s-1982 - Streator, Illinois 1982-present Pontiac, Illinois

Anthony Company – Streator, Illinois  - still in business as Anthony Liftgates -  moved to Pontiac, Illinois in 1982.   They now manufacture liftgates for pickup trucks, delivery vans,  and tractor trailer. The first type of liftgate design was invented by the Anthony Company in 1941 and mounted to the chassis-frame of a truck or trailer (usually a straight truck) and was stored in an upright position against the rear doorway.  The Streator, Illinois property has a rich manufacturing history. It used to be the home of Anthony Co, which used it to manufacture dump trailers, dump bodies, and liftgates. Anthony Company, Built Ford Model T& TT – Model A&AA Driver Salesman Truck bodies for Fords.

Anthony was a dump body manufacturer that supplied dump bodies with mechanical hoists to Ford for their catalog Model AA dump trucks.
