The Alliance Manufacturing Co. of Streator Illinois entered the motorized
professional car field in 1916 with both a carved-panel hearse and limousine-style combination funeral coach and
ambulance. Built on their assembled frame, both models included a 40hp six-cylinder Lycoming engine and a 140"
wheelbase. And both models were priced to compete with the competition (primarily Meteor) and were available for
just under $1800.
For 1917 Alliance offered coaches on either their own assembled chassis or on the less-expensive Ford Model TT.
Their 1918 limousine-style coach featured a high roofline and huge rear side-windows that reached from the beltline
all the way to the roof.
Streator Hearse & Body Co. was another professional car builder located in Streator, Illinois in the late Teens
and early Twenties.
