Adam & Hense was indeed a Minnesota company - located
in St. Paul - converters of the GM "clamshell" wagons to hearses. I have a
very few photos of these, which I'll scan and post on the Northland Photo
Archive Database. In the '60's, Adam & Hense was the Cotner-Bevington
distributor for this area. Though I have yet to find out who the Hense part
of the business was, the Adam name was well known in the funeral and livery
circles of St. Paul. The Adam family was involved not only in the C/B
dealership, they also had a livery service and a funeral home on Rice
Street, which is now a Bradshaw firm.
